Dropped in yesterday, August 29th. Should have gone to John's Lunch. At least there the food is consistently very, very good. I ordered the lobster sandwich with a baked potato. The bread was not the freshest. When I took a bite it broke in pieces somewhat dry to say the least. The lobster filling was just in the middle and was totally tasteless, if I had been blindfolded and not ordered I wouldn't have know what it was. As for the potato it was lukewarm to say the least. They're quick, the food tastes great, unlike the usual deep-fried to death foods. The prices are on average to other competing restaurants but the amount of food is much more worth it! It was great.

Took family from Montreal on My husbands 50th birtday. Upon arrival the manager said we had 10 minutes to order, as the kitchen was closing. We waited 20 minutes before the waitress showed up and took forever to get our food. DO NOT order the ribs..the middle was not cooked and blood running from it. Called over waitress and she said the cook went home and would not charge us..got sick off raw pork, and the manager gave me a dirty look and did not apologize. Do not eat at this restaurant unless you want to get sick.

Almost every time I go there my order is messed up. Most of the time the food is cold and/or missing something. Got 2 new Quarter Pounder Deluxe meals, which is supposed to have bacon, lettuce, tomato. I asked for no onions or tomatoes and I asked for some packs of McChicken sauce. Opened the bag at home and found cold, dark fries, no bacon on either burgers, tomato and onion on both and no mcchicken sauce in the bag. I mean really.....it's not rocket science, it's McDonalds.

We hadn't been to Kai-wing for years and thought we'd try it. Waste of time and money; the buffet was mostly deep fried stuff, the veggie dishes were overcooked from sitting for hours in the steam table, and though it was still nearly 2 hours til the end of the buffet, most dishes were nearly empty. The food tastes institutional and pre-packaged. Very disappointed and will not return.

Our experience with the service at this restaurant was terrible, the waitress Michele was rude, does not have any pr skills, and messed up our order. The breakfast potatoes are extra at this restaurant. We found this unusual. She made a bad impression on the small town of Baddeck NS. Will never go there again and will make sure to tell all my friends, family.

I chose Boondocks as the restaurant to bring my visitors from Australia and Texas for a taste of Nova Scotia seafood. The restaurant was almost empty, early afternoon on a Monday. We were shown to seats by the window and then told they were actually reserved, so moved to another area. The menu's were left at the first table and as the server had disappeared, we had to retrieve them ourselves. After about ten minutes, our order was taken. Absolutely delicious sheppard's pie -- It was creamy, flavorful, and not overly fat. A real treat.
The raspberry cheesecake was really great. It was a non-baked cheesecake with true raspberry flavor and lots of it. Also, it was a good sized portion for the price - about 3" square.
My favorite treat to buy from them is their Coconut muffin. The muffins are huge! And this one is moist and full of flake coconut.
I highly recommend this cafe.
